Looking Back on the Ducklings Easter Fundraiser

Looking Back on the Ducklings Easter Fundraiser

The Easter break is always a fantastic time to get together as a community while also raising some funds to support projects at the school.

With some restrictions already lifted, our Ducklings reception class joined up with the local pub, The Somerset Arms to put on a popular fundraising Easter Bunny Hunt.

Twenty-one bunnies were displayed in windows around the route, and they spelt out a message ‘Thank you from Ducklings’!

With the help of The Somerset Arms who sold the trail sheets for us over the weekend and also organised takeaway drinks and snacks, we raised over £400.

One student, Oliver, even decided he wanted to try and raise even more on his own. Selling cupcakes to passers-by, he raised an amazing extra £103.

With several weeks now passed, we’re very excited to be able to put some of our dreams for our outdoor area into reality using the funds raised. Some of the items we plan to spend the money on include: some fake grass for one part of our area to cover part of our outdoor area, an outdoor learning shed, some giant balance scales, a tuff tray stand, and planters for the vegetables ducklings class love to grow.

Semington is a beautiful village and we’re lucky to have a truly close-knit community that we are so excited to see more and more of as COVID-19 restrictions are reduced.
