Church & Community Links

Church Links

We have a close link with St George’s Church, Semington.

Rev John Rees who is the vicar at St George’s Church, is heavily involved in the life of the school. He is a governor, leads worship regularly and takes part in many other in school activities routinely.

Bev Woodward, is a member of the parish council, a church warden and a member of the governing body. She is a member of the local Open the Book team and therefore regularly comes in to be part of worship.

Reverend Joy Albone regularly helps with church services and has supported us with our Church spaces event and church exploration visits.

Children visit church regularly to lead special services (Harvest, Christingle and Easter for example) which are attended by other pupils, families and members of the community. Children also visit the church to learn more about the church as a special building and place of worship.

The Church have use of the premises for messy church each term, the grounds are used by the community for their village fete and for the Semington Slog. The community are welcome to attend certain events in school including the nativity and the summer production.

The children support a community coffee morning twice a term, engaging socially with older members of the community. The school were involved in decorating the village Christmas Tree and have been involved in a community litter pick.
